DivX files use the media format DMF or DivX Media Format with .divx as its file extension. As a media container format, it is used for the MPEG-4 Part 2 codec. Its features include interactive video menus, multiple subtitles, multiple audio tracks, and multiple video streams.

You can convert YouTube videos into .divx files and have them played on your DivX player, which you can download for free from certain websites. Another option file for you to consider is the wmv.

WMV stands for Windows Media Video. It was originally developed by Microsoft for internet streaming applications as a competitor of RealVideo. If you convert YouTube videos into WMV file, you must have Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, MPlayer, VLC Media player or KMPlayer
